Back on Stage...

Wednesday night was my solo debut. I had't been given a slot of more than 5 songs since I was with Strange Reality, and now I had an hour. I decided to do only covers- since this was a "tryout" and I'm not that "good" by myself. But I figured I'd give it a go. Here's what I ended up playing, in order:

Where the Streets Have No Name
Hungry Like the Wolf
Change Your Mind
Wonderwall
Hide Your Love Away
Amserdam
Good
Hold My Hand
Mary Jane's Last Dance
All for You
Help!
Stacy's Mom
My Hero
Champagne Supernova
Naked Sorority Girls

My buddy Nathan told me that I started stronger than I ended. It was fun, but I don't think I played particularly well. All my friends/family that came out were supportive, which was great. However I got an interesting vibe from the bar manager that booked me, he kind of talked to me as if I was a chick he didn't want to date anymore but didn't know how to put it, even though when I thanked him he said "Anytime man!" Ah well. I got my chance and I made the best of it. If nothing else, Mellow Mushroom has good pizza, and I didn't only play songs from the 90s. Now... where to find another open mic night...

If you're hear on a Wednesday Night, Mellow Mushroom will give you and hour for a tryout. I was thinkin the whole time "The Infamous Joe Collinsballs should be here."
